Law Students Contribute Notes and Essays to Journal of Civil Law Studies

LSU Law National Moot Court Team Advances to National Championship

LSU Law Hosts Regional Competition The LSU Law Center Advocacy Programs hosted one of the regional rounds of the National Moot Court Competition November 8 and 9.  LSU Law’s National Moot Court Team of Samuel Lumpkin, Samuel Crichton, and Jordan Stone placed second in the regional competition, advancing to the national championship that will be held in New York City in January 2013.  The competition was held in the courtrooms of the 19th Judicial District Courthouse in downtown Baton Rouge. LSU Law’s ABA Arbitration Team Wins Regional Championship

November 15, 2012

Congratulation to Andrew Baer, Zachary Ferguson, Michael Laborde, and Linda Matta, members of the LSU Law Center’s ABA Arbitration Competition Team, who took first place at the November 2012 regional rounds of the Arbitration Competition.  In January, the team will travel to Chicago to compete in the national championship of the Arbitration Competition.  A second LSU Law team, consisting of Leigh Hill, Lalla Morris, John Richards, and David Schroeter, advanced to the semifinals (Top 4) of the regional competition.  LSU Law alumnus James Carver (’89) coaches the ABA Arbitration teams. LSU Law Announces New Endowment Gift

November 2, 2012

LSU Law Center Chancellor Jack M. Weiss announced on November 1 the creation of The Preis and Roy Director of Advocacy and Professional Practice Endowed Professorship, an endowment established through a $250,000 gift by the Preis and Roy law firm.
