The LSU Law Center’s Stutes-Kalinka National Taxation Moot Court Competition team of Jena Kyle, Taheera Randolph, and Colin Ryan, recently took third place at the National Taxation Moot Court Competition. The Tax Competition, sponsored by the Tax Section of the Florida Bar Association, brings in leading tax practitioners and judges from the United States Tax Court as the competition judges. The Stutes-Kalinka Tax Team faced teams from the University of Kentucky College of Law, William Mitchell College of Law, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, University of Oregon School of Law, and Suffolk University Law School.

Professors Philip Hackney (’01) and Elizabeth Carter coach the team.

The Stutes-Kalinka Tax Team is supported in part by the generous gift of alumnus Rusty Stutes (’91), who endowed the team in memory of the late Professor Susan Kalinka.
