LSU Law Center Plans Day of Service

The Public Interest Law Society (PILS) of the LSU Law Center is organizing a "Day of Service" on Saturday, August 25.  Over 70 law students, faculty, and staff will spend the day cleaning and painting Riveroaks Elementary School in Baton Rouge.
The Law Center’s Public Interest Law Society is a student-run organization that strives to foster student interest and action in the community. The organization provides opportunities for students to gain hands-on legal experience through exposure to areas of the law that aid the public. PILS provides pro bono legal services through partnerships with a variety of local organizations, community service activities, as well as educational lectures.
Participants will gather at 8:30 a.m. at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center located on East Campus Drive. Painting and cleanup at Riveroaks Elementary will take place from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided. A barbecue for participants will take place at the Law Center’s Centennial Plaza from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Riveroaks Elementary School is located at 950 Fountainbleau Drive.
