LSU Law to Host Regional Trial Competition
January 29, 2007

The LSU Law Center will host the Region 11 round of the 32nd Annual National Trial Competition February 2-4 in downtown Baton Rouge.

All trials will be held in the courtrooms of the Baton Rouge City Court and the 19th Judicial District Court, with 24 teams from 12 law schools across Louisiana and Texas competing. The top two teams in this regional competition will be declared Regional Winners and invited to participate in the National Finals, composed of 26 teams and held in Houston in March.

In addition to two teams of LSU Law students in the competition, over 100 first-year LSU Law students are participating as witnesses and over 40 upperclassmen are serving as bailiffs.

This prestigious competition was established in 1975 by the Texas Young Lawyers Association to encourage and strengthen students’ advocacy skills through quality competition and valuable interaction with members of the bench and bar. LSU Law Center Moves to Second-Tier Ranking in U.S. News and World Report
January 18, 2007
The LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center recently moved three spots to #87 in the 2007 U.S. News and World Report law school rankings.

LSU Law finished in the middle of the 180 schools accredited by the American Bar Association.
