Grace H. Barry is the Director of the Legal Writing Program which oversees all freshman legal writing courses and the advanced appellate advocacy program. Before coming to the Law Center in 1998, Barry was senior staff attorney for the Louisiana House of Representatives Committee on Judiciary. She currently serves as a research consultant to the Judicial Administrator's Office of the Louisiana Supreme Court's Distinct Court Rules Committee. She also works part-time as a social worker with Baton Rouge City Court's diversion program. Before her academic career, Barry was a trial lawyer in Baton Rouge specializing in maritime law. Throughout much of her legal career she was an adjunct instructor of appellate advocacy at the Law Center. Barry received her J.D. from the Law Center where she was a member of the Moot Court Board and the Robert Lee Tullis Moot Court Competition and served on the Law Center's Ethics Committee.
