Event Description | In 2010, SCOTUS decided Citizen's United and fundamentally changed our political landscape. In granting corporations free speech protections under the First Amendment, SCOTUS has allowed dark money to flow in to all levels of American elections. Join ACS for the first Where's the Nuance? discussion of the semester. What have the implications of Citizen's United been? Have the effects been completely negative? What steps should be taken to reign in corporate influence of elections? Should the decision be overturned? What is the benefit of corporate speech in elections? We look forward to you joining us for a robust discussion on Citizen's United, dark money in politics, and the future of our elections! |
