A Tradition of Excellence/Forever LSU Campaign

Close to $16 million was raised toward the LSU Law Center’s Traditions of Excellence/Forever LSU Campaign, according to Campaign Chair Shelby McKenzie (’64).

Generous gifts from dedicated LSU Law alumni and friends have provided one new endowed chair (only the second in LSU Law history), 72 new endowed scholarships to support our students, and 30 new endowed professorships to support faculty research and scholarship.  Stay tuned for our upcoming announcement concerning the new endowed chair! Importantly, the Russell B. Long Eminent Scholars Academic Chair was also created to support the Law Center during the campaign.

The campaign came to a close on December 31, 2010, but the Law Center will continue its efforts to raise needed funds, with specific emphasis on establishing an Energy Law Center, scholarships and other endowments. Funds raised by the Law Center stay at the Law Center to meet specific needs and priorities.

Chancellor Jack Weiss, together with campaign steering committees located in Louisiana and Texas, spearheaded the Tradition of Excellence campaign for LSU Law. A special thanks to everyone who has contributed time and resources to the campagin. A special thanks is extended to our hardworking Regional Campaign Steering Committee Members (PDF).
