Rock and Kim Palermo Endowed Scholarship

J. Rock Palermo III graduated from LSU with a bachelor’s degree in 1987 and from LSU Law School in 1992, where he was selected to the Moot Court Board. Today, he and his wife Kim and their three children live in Lake Charles where Rock is a partner in the firm of Veron, Bice, Palermo & Wilson, which handles serious personal injury and wrongful death cases particularly in the areas of maritime, petrochemical, medical and automobile negligence.

Rock has been named multiple years to the editions of Super Lawyers and also to the 2009 edition of “The Best Lawyers in America.” He is additionally a member of the Albert Tate Inn of Court, LSU Law Center Chancellor’s Council, and the Louisiana Association for Justice. Rock is also a certified mediator, licensed airline transport pilot, and master scuba instructor. He is active in the Civil Air Patrol, the United States Air Force Auxiliary, and holds the rank of Colonel.

The recipient of this scholarship must be a current or entering full-time student that demonstrates strong academic performance. Preference priority wil be given to residence of Calcasieu, Cameron, Beauregard, Allen, Jefferson Davis, Acadia or Evangeline Parishes. The scholarship may be retained for additional year(s) provided funds are available and he/she remains in the top half of his/her class and meet all other eligibility requirements.
