LSU Spiked Blueberry Lemonade

Ingredients (Serves 8)

1 cup fresh lemon juice

1 ½ cups blueberries (fresh or frozen)

1 cup granulated sugar

6 cups water

1 ½ cups vodka

¼ teaspoon violet gel food coloring (optional but enhances the purple shade of the drink!)


Garnish: fresh blueberries, lemon slices, lemon rind twist



Combine lemon juice, blueberries, sugar, and 1 cup water in a blender and puree until smooth and sugar is dissolved–about 2 minutes. Use a mesh sleeve to strain into a large pitcher or punch bowl. Discard any seeds and solids caught in the pitcher. Stir in the remaining 5 cups water, vodka, and food coloring (if using). Chill until serving time.


Purple Tiger Dream Cocktail

Ingredients (Serves 1)

1/2 oz. Blackcurrant vodka (or plain vodka if you don’t have Blackcurrant)

1 oz. Blue Curacao Liqueur

2 oz. Raspberry Liqueur

2 oz. Cranberry Juice

Lemon-Lime Soda



In a shaker mix vodka and cranberry juice and pour in a glass with ice. Add raspberry liqueur and blue curacao to glass and fill up with lemon-lime soda. If the drink is a little too blue, add extra cranberry juice until a deep purple color is achieved. Inspired by Carla at Haute Cocktail.


Traditional Hurricane Recipe

Ingredients (Serves 1)

2 oz. light rum

2 oz. dark rum

2 oz. passion fruit juice

1 oz. orange juice

½ oz. fresh lime juice

1 tbsp simple syrup

1 tbsp grenadine

Garnish: orange slice and cherry



Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and strain into a hurricane glass filled with ice. Garnish with a cherry and an orange slice.



Ingredients (Serves 1)

1.5 oz. Vanilla Vodka (1 shot glass full)

1 oz. Coconut Rum

Splash Pineapple Juice



Fill a shaker with ice. Add vodka, coconut rum, and pineapple juice to taste. Strain into martini glass.


The No-School Driver

Ingredients (Serves 1)

4 oz. Vodka

1 tsp Elderberry Syrup

4 oz. Orange Juice



Fill a glass with ice. Use a shot glass to add vodka or eyeball it. Add elderberry and fill with orange juice. Stir and enjoy!


Blended Mimosas

Ingredients (Serves 2)

1 cup Orange Juice

1 cup Dry Champagne

10 cubes of ice



Pour orange juice and half of the champagne in the blender with the ice cubes. Run the blender, breaking down the ice cubes and thoroughly mixing the liquids. When the ice cubes are in small enough pieces, pour the mixture into a glass. Pour the rest of the champagne into the glass.


Cajun Bloody Mary

Ingredients (Makes 2 ½ quarts)

1 (46 oz.) bottle vegetable or tomato juice

½ cup fresh lemon or lime juice

¼ cup liquid from jar of pickled okra or jalapeños

3 tbsp Cajun seasoning blend

2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp prepared horseradish

1 tsp celery seeds

1 ½ cups plain or pepper-flavored vodka

Garnish: lemon wedges and pickled okra



Stir together ingredients in a large pitcher, and chill. Pour into tall glasses. Garnish, if desired.


Bayou Sidecar Cocktail

Ingredients (Serves 1)

1 oz. Bayou Select Rum

1 oz. Bayou Satsuma Rum

1 oz. fresh lemon juice

½ oz. simple syrup


Sugar for the rim



Wet the rim of a glass and dip in sugar. Measure all ingredients into a shaker and add ice. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass with a sugar rim.


Dilly Dilly Drink

Ingredients (Serves 1)

1 oz. vodka

4 oz. limeade

1 Bud Light Beer

Garnish: lime wedge



Add the vodka and limeade to a pint glass. Top with beer, garnish with lime wedge, and serve.


Sweet Tea Cocktail

Ingredients (Serves 1)

2 pieces skinned cucumber, chopped

4 fresh mint leaves

3 raspberries


3 oz. lemonade

2 oz. sweet tea vodka

Garnish: lemon wheel



Muddle the cucumber, mint, raspberries, and ice in a shaker. Add the lemonade and sweet tea vodka. Shake well. Pour into a high ball glass or mason jar and garnish with a lemon wheel.
