Tom Stagg, 1949Judge Tom Stagg ('49) is a Senior Judge in the U.S. District Court, Western District of Louisiana.

1960s

Ben R. Miller, Jr. ('61), Kean Miller, was  elected to the Board of Directors of Louisiana Organization for Nonprofit Organizations ("LANO").

Allen L. Smith, Jr. ('64) was honored on Law Day in Southwest Louisiana by receiving the Judge Albert Tate American Inns of Court Professionalism in Practice award at the May 7, 2010 ceremony in recognition of his service in helping to develop the “Code Of Professionalism” adopted by the Louisiana Supreme Court.

1970s

Samuel A. Bacot ('73), McGlinchey Stafford, was named to Chambers USA: Leading Lawyers for Business 2010 for excellence in Real Estate.

Michael H. Rubin ('75), McGlinchey Stafford, was named to Chambers USA 2010 for excellence in Banking & Finance.

R. Patrick Vance ('75) Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevent, Carrere & Denegre was recently re-elected to a three-year term on the board of directors for the American College of Bankruptcy.

Kenneth Roosa (’77), Cooke Roosa, LLC, was recognized in 2009 as one of six Super Lawyers in Alaska in the area of Personal Injury Litigation.

Keith Colvin ('79), McGlinchey Stafford, was named to Chambers USA 2010 for excellence in Real Estate.

James Mansfield ('79) has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for Liskow & Lewis. Mansfield is a shareholder of Liskow and Lewis in Lafayette, LA where he practices Energy and Natural Resources Law as well as Energy Litigation.

1980s

Rodolfo J. Aguilar, Jr. ('82), McGlinchey Stafford, was named to Chambers USA 2010 for excellence in Corporate/M&A.

Christine Lipsey ('82), McGlinchey Stafford, was named to Chambers USA 2010 for excellence in General Commercial Litigation.

Jane Cantrell Taber, 1982Jane Cantrell Taber (’82), Taber Estes Thorne & Carr PLLC, was recognized in D Magazine’s 2010 listing of the Best Women Lawyers in Dallas for her expertise in corporate finance and mergers.

Richard A. Aguilar ('86), McGlinchey Stafford, was named to Chambers USA 2010 for excellence in Bankruptcy/Restructuring.

John LaMaster ('86) is the co-head of the Oil & Gas Global Industry Sector Group at Dewey & LeBoeuf in London, England. He was recently elected to the firmwide Executive Committee of Dewey & LeBoeuf, which has more than 1,200 lawyers in 25 offices in 15 countries around the world.

Patty McMurray, 1986Patty McMurray ('86), Adams and Reese, Baton Rouge, was awarded the 2010 Leah Hipple McKay Memorial Award for Outstanding Volunteerism from the Louisiana State Bar Association at an event held in conjunction with the LSBA's Annual Meeting in June.

Amanda Wood Barnett ('88) is VP, Corporate Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Red River Bank in Alexandria, LA.

Thomas A. Budetti ('88) was appointed Magistrate Judge for the Youngsville Magistrate Court. The Magistrate Court handles traffic violations and misdemeanor offenses within the city limits of Youngsville, Louisiana.

P. Matt Jones ('89) has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for Liskow & Lewis. Jones is a also a shareholder in Lafayette, LA where he practices Business and Energy Litigation.

1990s

Tara Mason, 1996Tara Mason (’96), Lobman, Carnahan, Batt, Angelle & Nader, was elected in April 2010 as a new member of the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. Mrs. Mason will serve a two-year term.

Stacy Lynn Wright ('97) is an Assistant District Attorney, Appellate Section, in the East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney's Office.

2000s

Jason Sant ('01), Spanish Fork City Attorney's Office, recently took a position with this office handling misdemeanor prosecution, civil litigation and land use issues for the City of Spanish Fork, Utah.

Cullen Magee Ryan ('03) is in her sixth year of practicing criminal defense at the Law Office of Carlos Martinez, Public Defender, 11th Judicial District of Florida.

Kelly Haggar (’05), Riparian, Inc., recently selected by Ascension Parish to perform wetland delineations of all its drainage projects, being the practical application of Riverside-Bayview, SWANCC, Needham, Rapanos, and Lucas.

Rachal Déné Chance ('07)  joined Jones Walker in Lafayette as an associate in the Business & Commercial Litigation Practice Group. Prior to joining Jones Walker, she served as an associate at Daigle Rayburn LLC in Lafayette, and also served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John C. Davidson, Ninth District Judicial Court in Alexandria, LA.

Brianna Williams ('07) was named to the National Bar Association and IMPACTS's inaugural Nation's Best Advocates: 40 Lawyers Under 40, a recogniition of talented individuals (age 40 and under) within the African American legal community who have achieved prominence and distinction. The awardees will be celebrated on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Nation’s Best Advocates: 40 Lawyers Under 40 Gala during the 85th Annual NBA Convention in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Andrew Lilly (’09), Montgomery Barnett LLP, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Federal Bar Association (New Orleans chapter) and will be sworn in on July 23, 2010 at the Plimsoll Club, in New Orleans.

Trevor Kade Theunissen ('09), was named Chief of Staff for recently sworn-in New Orleans City Council member Kristin Gisleson Palmer, District C.
