1950s

Arthur Caromdy, 1952Arthur R. Carmody, Jr. ('52) is of counsel to the firm of Wilkinson, Carmody & Gilliam. He has been honored in the Best Lawyers in America each year since 1995 and was recently named, along with the late Robert Pugh, as one of the inaugural members of SB Magazine's Lawyers Hall of Fame.

1960s

William E. Shaddock, Jr. ('63), with the firm of Stockwell, Sievert, Viccellio, Clements & Shaddock LLP, was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2009.

Patrick A. Juneau ('65) was recently appointed Special Master in the national $4.5 billion Vioxx settlement.

Robert Shemwell, 1967Robert H. Shemwell ('67) will retire from his position as clerk of the U.S. District Court and U.S. Magistrate judge for the Western District of Louisiana effective March 15 after 34 years of service. At the time of retirement, he will be the longest serving clerk of court in the country and the only clerk of court/magistrate judge in the country.

John M. Wilson ('67), with the firm of Liskow & Lewis, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer.

Emmett C. Sole ('68), with the firm of Stockwell, Sievert, Viccellio, Clements & Shaddock LLP, was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2009.

Hon. Richard Putnam ('69), of Abbeville City Court, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Leon J. Reymond, Jr. ('69), with the firm of Liskow & Lewis, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer.

1970s

Hon. James Mitchell ('70), of the 30th JDC, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Michael W. Casey III ('71) continues to manage the Miami, Florida office of Epstein, Becker & Green, a national firm. Casey has practiced labor and employment law (management) in Miami since graduation.

Elliott W. Atkinson, Jr. ('73) is the current president of the Dean Henry George McMahon, American Inn of Court.

Hon. Jacque Derr ('73), of the 8th JDC, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

S. Gene Fendler ('73), with the firm of Liskow & Lewis, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer.

John S. Bradford ('74), with the firm of Stockwell, Sievert, Viccellio, Clements & Shaddock LLP, was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2009.

Philip K. Jones, Jr. ('74), with the firm of Liskow & Lewis, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer.

Fred Preis, 1974Fred Preis ('74) was recently elected chairman of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry—the largest business group in the state.

George H. Robinson, Jr. ('74), with the firm of Liskow & Lewis, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer.

Glenn Marcel ('75) serves as general counsel for Edgen Murray Corporation in Baton Rouge.

Hon. James McClelland ('75), of the 16th JDC, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Stephen Ridley, 1975Stephen D. Ridley ('75) has joined the firm of Jones Walker as special counsel in the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group. He will work from Jones Walker's New Orleans and Washington, D.C. offices.

David Kelly, 1976David S. Kelly ('76), an attorney with Lemle & Kelleher LLP, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer. His area of practice is Civil Litigation Defense.

Hal C. Welch ('77), with the firm of Lemle & Kelleher LLP, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer. His area of practice is transportation/maritime.

Joseph Shea, 1978Joseph L. Shea, Jr. ('78), of the firm Lemle & Kelleher LLP, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer. His area of practice is class action/mass torts.

Hon. Richard Swartz ('78), of the 22nd JDC, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Barry W. Miller ('79) has joined the firm of Heller, Draper, Hayden, Patrick & Horn's Baton Rouge office.

1980s

Steve Koehler, 1980Steve Koehler ('80) was recently ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He has been assigned to St. Edward the Confessor Parish in Metairie. He has also been assigned to serve as a chaplain at East Jefferson General Hospital, where he will do pastoral counseling one or two evenings per week.

Charles Riddle, 1980Charles A. Riddle III ('80) is currently serving as District Attorney for Avoyelles Parish, 12th JDC.

Clay Allen ('81) was recently elected secretary of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry—the largest business group in the state.

Hon. Trudy White ('81), of the 19th JDC, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Donald Trahan ('84) serves as attorney supervisor for the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.

Hon. William Crain ('86), of the 22nd JDC, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Alfreda A. Sellers Diamond ('86) was named the Revius O. Ortique Professor of Law at Southern University Law Center.

Jonathan A. Hunter ('87), with the firm of Liskow & Lewis, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer.

Thomas J. McGoey II ('87), with the firm of Liskow & Lewis, was named as a 2009 Louisiana Super Lawyer.

Hon. Mary Lauve Doggett ('88), of the 9th JDC, and the Hon. Craig Marcotte ('88), of the 1st JDC, both went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

James C. Carver ('89) is now managing partner at the firm of Oats & Hudson in Baton Rouge.

Jim Milano ('89) is a partner with the firm of Weiner, Brodsky, Sidman, Kidman PC in Washington, D.C. His practice involves primarily financial services law on behalf of financial institutions.

1990s

Josh M. Kantrow ('90) has joined Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker as partner in the Chicago office.

Nancy Landry, 1990Nancy Landry ('90) was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives. She will represent District 31, which includes portions of Lafayette and Vermillion Parish.

Hon. Danny Ellender ('91), of the 4th JDC, and the Hon. Phillip Lester ('91), of the Bastrop City Court, both went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Hon. C. Kerry Anderson ('92), 36th JDC, and the Hon. Jane Milazzo-Triche ('92), 23rd JDC, both went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Dawn D. Bonnecaze ('98) recently became a partner with Taylor Porter. Her practice includes taxation, corporate transactions, and insurance regulatory law.

Lorraine A. McCormick ('93) is with the firm of Lee & Walsh in Baton Rouge.

Mary Hester ('94), with the firm of Taylor Porter in Baton Rouge, was recently published in the January 2009 issue of The Journal of Taxation with her article, Charitable Lead Trusts: Use Them Now.

Scott McLaughlin, 1994Scott R. McLaughlin ('94), a partner in Jackson Walker's Houston office, was selected for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America 2009. He practices in the field of labor and employment law.

Hon. J. Christopher Peters ('94), of the 28th JDC, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Bradley Drell, 1996Bradley L. Drell ('96) has become a shareholder with Gold, Weems, Bruser, Sues & Rundell in Alexandria, Louisiana. He is a board certified specialist in bankruptcy law and practices corporate law, commercial litigation, and construction law.

Hon. Anastasia "Staci" Wiley ('96), of Winnfield City Court, went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

Hon. Daniel Stretcher ('97), of Jennings City Court, and the Hon. Warren "Danny" Willett ('97), of the 35th JDC, both went through the 2008 New Judges Orientation.

2000s

Kevin Ainsworth, 2000Kevin O. Ainsworth ('00) was recently elected to partnership in the firm of Jones Walker. Ainsworth practices in the areas of business & commercial litigation/real estate in Baton Rouge.

M. Michelle Marney ('00) recently became a partner with Taylor Porter. Her practice includes environmental law and toxic tort.

Kelly Becker, 2001Kelly Brechtel Becker ('01) was elected to the partnership of Liskow & Lewis. Becker is with the firm's New Orleans office where she maintains an oil and gas litigation practice.

Trey Cloud, 2001Trey W. Cloud ('01) was recently elected to partnership in the firm of Jones Walker. Cloud practices in the area of real estate in Baton Rouge.

James Dupuis, 2001James H. Dupuis, Jr. ('01) was elected to the partnership of Liskow & Lewis. Dupuis practices in the firm's Lafayette office where he has a non-litigation practice related to oil and gas matters. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, teaching part of a course on petroleum land management.

Kyle Ferachi, 2001Kyle A. Ferachi ('01) was elected to membership in the firm McGlinchey Stafford PLLC's Baton Rouge. Ferachi defends private employers against various allegations of violations of federal and state statutes governing discrimination, harassment, whistle-blower claims, OSHA complaints and non-compete agreements.

Tanner Johnson ('01) has rejoined Sen. Mary Landrieu's Leadership team as projects director. He previously served from 2001 to 2005 in multiple positions on the Landrieu team, including legislative assistant.

Jonathan Wilbourn, 2001Jonathan G. Wilbourn ('01) was elected to membership in the firm of McGlinchey Stafford PLLC's Baton Rouge office. His primary emphasis is on commercial litigation, with a focus on consumer financial services litigation and business litigation.

Monique Cenac, 2002Monique A. Cenac ('02) was recently elected to partnership in the firm of Jones Walker. Cenac practices in the area of corporate & securities in Phoenix, Arizona.

Tommy D. Gildersleeve ('02) recently became a partner with Taylor Porter. His practice includes environmental law and toxic tort.

Laura Hart, 2003Laura L. Hart ('03) has been elected to partnership in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. Her practice concentrates on environmental and energy-related litigation.

Karen Stubbs ('03) returned to Baton Rouge to work for Gov. Bobby Jindal as director of his Children's Cabinet.

Andrew Spaniol, 2004Andrew Spaniol ('04), an associate in the Dallas office of Gardere, Wynne, Sewell, LLP, has been elected to a two-year term on the Board of Directors for Literacy Instruction for Texas, or LIFT.

Linnie Benezech ('05) has accepted a visiting professor position at the University of Florida. This semester she will teach the basic income tax class to JD students and work with the LLM students in taxation on their research papers.

Jennifer Gaubert Aertker ('06) is with the firm of Seale, Smith, Zuber & Barnette in Baton Rouge.

Ross Mouhot, 2006Ross Mouhot ('06) was promoted to manager of state and local tax services at UHY Advisors in Houston, Texas.

Beau Braswell, 2007Beau Braswell ('07) and Leila Parvizian ('08) were married December 27, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge.

Jeffrey Glasspool, 2007Jeffrey Glasspool ('07) was promoted to senior associate with UHY Advisors in Houston, Texas. He is part of UHY's state and local tax services department.

Jared Gurley ('08) was accepted to New York University's LLM program in taxation.

Wesley P. Hebert ('08) recently joined Taylor Porter as an associate. His practice focuses on workers' compensation.
