About LSU Law Alumni

The alumni of the LSU Law Center are distinguished in their accomplishments, support and involvement. LSU Law alumni are successful attorneys, legislators, congressmen, distinguished members of the judiciary and business leaders. Since its birth in 1906, the LSU Law Center has graduated more than 10,000 students.

Many alumni share their valuable expertise and experience with LSU Law students by serving as adjunct professors, lecturers and guest speakers. Alumni are active members of the LSU Law Center Alumni Board of Trustees and Young Alumni Leadership Council, serving in key consultative roles. Alumni are also supportive of the Law Center mission through their financial support that provides necessary resources to foster a quality and affordable legal education at our state flagship Law Center.

Gifts at Work

Gifts at WorkLSU is a remarkable law school, and we are ready to work together to make it even better tomorrow. Our ability to do great things depends on you. Your support of LSU Law makes it possible for the Law Center to develop the next generation of leaders in the legal, business and public service arenas.

See below on the different ways you can support LSU Law:

Frank Maraist

Professor Frank Maraist delivered his last lecture on July 14, 2011, in Room 110 to a standing ovation from faculty colleagues, staff, and students in attendance. It was a low-key but heartfelt conclusion to a career that spanned almost four decades of positive influence and mentorship of hundreds of LSU Law graduates. To pay tribute to Professor Maraist, we have launched a campaign to name Room 110 the Frank L. Maraist Lecture Hall in his honor.

Cheney Joseph

Cheney Joseph was the heart and soul of the LSU Law Center, and he was one of the most influential lawyers and people in the history of the Louisiana legal profession. We all are blessed to have known and loved this great lawyer, professor, and man, whose spirit and influence will live forever through his family, friends, colleagues, students and graduates. To pay tribute, we have launched a campaign to name Room W210 the Cheney C. Joseph Classroom in his honor.
