    • The 7th edition of Dressler & Garvey may be acquired directly through West Academic Publishing, through the campus bookstore at Barnes & Noble, locally through Claitor’s Bookstore, or through booksellers available online and otherwise.  At this point, the book has been used in courses around the country during all or part of three academic years, such that students who are interested in lowering their expenses by buying used book have ample numbers available.

     

    I do not recommend using a used copy of the 6th edition, of which there are still copies floating around.  The assignments will be geared to the 7th edition and not the 6th, and when I make references to the book in class, they will be to the newer edition. Moreover, students who choose to buy the older edition are responsible to be sure that what they read in the older edition corresponds to the newer edition, and to read new material in the 7th edition not available in the 6th edition.

     

    Students should be aware of what West Academic Publishing calls its “casebook plus” option.  Students can buy a digital copy of the 7th edition in addition to or instead of the print edition, along with digital learning aids (see http://home.westacademic.com/casebookPlus/students) . 

     

    Students can also buy the digital learning aids separate and apart from the digital copy, something those who choose a used book might wish to do.  (See https://system.na1.netsuite.com/core/media/media.nl?id=610229&c=3668083&h=703f49a196c995617292&_xt=.pdf.)  The assessment tools available as part of the set of digital learning aids are not required, but may be highly useful.
