LSU Law students celebrated another successful year of the Louisiana State University Journal of Energy Law and Resources (JELR) with its annual banquet. The event served to recognize the current members of the Senior Editorial Board and mark the completion of the 2015-16 journal.
The LSU Journal of Energy Law and Resources is delighted to announce the Junior Associates who are selected to the Volume V Board of Editors. The Volume IV Board had the difficult task of making this selection from an outstanding group of candidates. We thank you all for your interest in and dedication to the LSU Journal of Energy Law and Resources. Congratulations!
Professor Jacqueline L . Weaver will deliver the annual Liskow & Lewis Visiting Professorship in Energy Law Lecture on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the LSU Law Center. The lecture, Offshore Safety after Macondo: Lowering Risks in the Gulf of Mexico and Globally, will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the David W. Robinson Courtroom. The Liskow & Lewis Visiting Professorship in Energy Law was established through a generous gift from the Liskow & Lewis law firm. The Professorship provides funds to bring distinguished scholars in energy law and closely related fields to the Law Center on an annual basis as part of the LSU John P. Laborde Energy Law Center.
The 62nd annual Mineral Law Institute will be held March 19 and 20 in the McKernan Auditorium at the LSU Law Center. Topics that will be addressed during the two-day event include gas markets, water issues, local regulation of oil and gas activities, and trends in financial security requirements for federal and state lease obligations. International oil and gas experts will gather at the LSU Law Center on March 12 and 13, 2015, for An International Offshore Oil and Gas Comparison, with a focus on the UK, Norway and USA. The LSU Journal of Energy Law and Resources (JELR) recently launched a new website, which includes the latest issue of the Journal, Volume 3 Issue 1. The JELR is a student-edited academic journal at the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center committed to developing and promoting a variety of topics in the purview of energy law.
