LSU Law Students Share Their Summer in Lyon Experiences

On June 13, more than 40 LSU Law students descended to central France to begin their summer in Lyon.

Hosted in the historic law school of Université Jean Moulin- Lyon III, the program allows students to earn up to seven credits in interesting comparative and international law topics, from migration and refugee law, to international sales and copyright law, and even courses on wine laws.

Spending the summer in picturesque France is a dream for many college students, and LSU Law returning 2L and 3L students are given the opportunity to broaden their learning experiences with this study-abroad program.

Below are a few photos and experiences LSU Law students are having this summer in Lyon. To learn more about LSU Law’s Summer in Lyon program, visit the program’s web page or contact Professor Wendell H. Holmes.

It was a bit of a culture shock coming to live in a place where English isn’t the primary language, but it has also been an eye-opening experience exploring the similar and differing language of the law on an international level.

It took me no time to adjust to this friendly city and its amazing cuisine.

This trip is the experience of a lifetime, and it would be an injustice to the program if I didn’t recommend it!

A female student smilesThe LSU Law Lyon trip has been one of the best experiences of my life! It’s been one for the books – we get to learn about international law topics that aren’t offered in Baton Rouge for four days and have three day weekends to get cultured/travel.

We all feel lucky because we know we’ll never get the chance to do this for two months with all our friends.
