Law Students Compete at National Pretrial Competition

The LSU Law Center’s National Pretrial Competition team of Ben Aguiñaga, Ahmed Mohamed, Scott Ogden, and Alexandra Porubsky, placed sixth overall and won fourth place best defense brief at their competition, which was held October 16-19 at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, FL.  LSU Law was one of 16 law schools that competed.

The pretrial team writes a brief in support of a pre-trial motion. This year’s case file dealt with the need for additional discovery in a Fair Labor Standards Act case. The team argued its motion and held a supplementary evidentiary hearing in support of the motion. Professor Jeffrey Brooks coached the team.
