Auditorium Conference Room Laptop

This tutorial will explain how to connect a laptop and project an image from the media podium.

This is the podium in the Auditorium Conference Room. To connect a laptop you will need to use the VGA cable located in the cable cubby in the middle of the podium.

From left:
1. Ethernet cable
2. VGA cable
3. Audio cable
4. HDMI cable

Plug the VGA cable and audio cable into your laptop’s VGA input and headphone jack.

To connect to the LCD projector you will need to connect the VGA cable to the VGA input on your laptop.

This is the VGA cable connected to the VGA Input.

For audio to be delivered from the laptop to the room speakers, it is necessary to connect the 1/8-inch audio cable to the headphone jack on the laptop.

This is the audio cable connected to the headphone jack.

In order to connect your laptop to the Internet, you will need to connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the laptop.

This is the Ethernet cable connected to the Ethernet port.

Note that depending on the type of laptop, the VGA connection, Ethernet port and headphone jack could be located in different positions.


1. Press the Power On button on the control center located on the back wall of the room.  The projector will turn and the screen will display the image that is currently displaying on the laptop.
2. Press the Screen Down button to lower the screen for the image.

There is a secondary control center panel located in the cable cubby as well that may be used following the same instructions.
