Library Circulation Policies

Borrowing Privileges

Faculty, students, and staff of the LSU Law Center may borrow library materials using their law school ID card. Faculty members may grant proxy borrowing privileges to their research assistants by first notifying the Head of Access Services via email with the authorized research assistant’s name.

Current faculty, staff, and graduate students of LSU A&M University may borrow library materials using their LSU ID card.

Law Center alumni and members of the Louisiana State Bar Association may borrow library materials during business hours (8:00 am – 4:30 pm) Monday through Friday. Alums must present a valid Louisiana driver’s license or current bar membership card to establish borrowing privileges; non-alum members of the Louisiana State Bar Association must present a current bar membership card.

It is the responsibility of the borrower to know when library materials are due and to return or renew them on or before the due date.

Non-Circulating Materials

Many items such as reporters, journals, and loose-leaf binders do not circulate. Patrons may use these items in the library only and scan or make copies of needed sections. Please ask at the Circulation Desk if you have questions regarding the status of an item or for assistance using the scanners or copiers.
