John W. deGravelles (’74) was sworn in on Thursday, July 24 by Chief Judge Brian Jackson of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana as the latest appointee to the Court. The United States Senate unanimously confirmed deGravelles to the federal judgeship on July 22.
LSU has implemented an Ethics & Integrity Hotline, a phone and Internet-based reporting system that provides a secure and confidential means to report activities that may involve fraudulent, unethical, or otherwise inappropriate behavior in violation of LSU by-laws, or policies.
Cordell H. Haymon will be honored as the 2014 LSU Law Center Distinguished Alumnus of the Year and the Honorable James J. “Jim” Brady, Maryam Sabbaghian Brown, Craig W. Murray and Patrick S. Ottinger will be honored for Distinguished Achievement at an awards luncheon on Sunday, September 21, at Lod Cook Conference Center in Baton Rouge.
On June 5, LSU Law alum John P. Laborde (’49) received the inaugural Army Week NOLA Soldier for Life Award at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. The award was presented when Bastion Community and the Army Week Association co-hosted the Joint Forces D-Day 70th Anniversary Ball at the Museum.
