Class of 2011
"This isn’t a place where you will study all day and then go home. There are so many functions throughout the year that allow everyone to get to know one another. Other than socials and student clubs, intramurals and the annual Barrister’s Bowl are great ways to meet other students. This is the only law school I know of that hosts a full-contact, regulation football game to raise money for a designated charity." read more...
LSU currently ranks among the top 30 public universities in total research awards. The University’s total federal funding; from agencies such as the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, and the Department of Homeland Security; has increased 86 percent or more than $90 million over the last five years.

COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY

LSU law students are diverse in many ways – ethnically, culturally, politically, and economically. Geographically, about four-fifths of the Center’s enrollment comes from Louisiana with the rest from around the nation and across the globe. Students of color make up approximately 16% of the student body; women compose approximately 50% of each entering class.

The Law Center’s diversity is reflected in its student organizations, including the Black Law Students Association, the Christian Legal Society, the Legal Association of Women, the American Civil Liberties Union, the Law Democrats, the Law Republicans, and the Federalist Society. Students note the openness of faculty and students to voices that express a wide range of opinions. “LSU is extremely balanced in its views from the conservative side and from the liberal side,” says Shane Sandefer ('05). “People are very open to arguments from various points of view.”
