LSU has increased admission standards six times in recent years, and each time, the number of student applications has increased.
Semester Abroad Summer ProgramsLyon, France The Law Center annually conducts a summer program in France at the University of Lyon III School of Law, Lyon, France. Lyon, France's second city, is located in the center of the country and boasts a population of over one million. The university campus is stretched throughout the city, and the main law school building is located on the banks of the Rhone River just across from the city's financial district. The law faculty is renowned for its leadership and initiative in comparative legal education and research. The 2009 LSU summer program will enter its 24th year in France, and the partnership with the University of Lyon III promises a new level of transatlantic exchange between Louisiana and France. The program attracts many internationally distinguished professors and lecturers. All classes are in English and are designed to meet the requirements of the ABA and AALS. Buenos Aires, Argentina The Law Center at Louisiana State University offered an innovative summer program in Buenos Aires for law students in 2007. Running from mid-May to early June, this program offered the opportunity to earn 4 credits in just three weeks and be back home in time to take advantage of internship or clerking offers. The Law Center hopes to continue this program soon. |
