Marlene KrouselAssistant Professor of Professional PracticeBrief BiographyMarlene Krousel Allgood received her J.D. from LSU in 1982. During law school, she was an Associate Editor of the Louisiana Law Review, received the American Jurisprudence Award for Agency and Partnership, and was a research assistant for Professor P. Raymond Lamonica. After law school, she clerked for Judge Melvin A. Shortess at the First Circuit Court of Appeal for the State of Louisiana and for Judge Frank Foil at the 19th Judicial District Court for the State of Louisiana. Following the clerkships, she practiced law for 13 years with Walter R. Krousel, Jr. and Associates in Baton Rouge. During her years of private practice, she served as President of the Family Law Section of the Baton Rouge Bar Association. She also coached the Baton Rouge High School Mock Trial Team. During the three years that she coached, her team won the state competition. She is a certified Attorney Mediator, she is also a member of the Wex Malone Inn of Court. She came to the LSU Law Center in 1998. In 2005, she received an award for outstanding contributions to the creation and preparation of course-wide appellate advocacy materials. |
