Professor of Public International Law, EU Law and German Public Law at Saarland University since 1999; Director of the Europa Institut at Saarland University since 1999; Dean of the Faculty of Law in Halle 1998/1999; Director of the Institute of Economic Law of the Martin Luther University 1997 - 1999; Professor of Public International Law, EU Law, International Economic Law, German Constitutional and Administrative Law at the Martin Luther University Halle - Wittenberg 1993-1999; Visiting Professor Chicago Kent University, World Trade Institute Bern (Switzerland), Amsterdam Law School, University of Rijeka Law School (Croatia), Tulane Law School (New Orleans), Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge), Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Beijing); Visiting Professorial Fellow, Georgetown University Law School - Institute of International Economic Law (Washington D.C.) since 2001; Member of the ILA (International Law Association) Committee on International Trade Law; Member of the Council of the German ILA Branch; Co-ordinator of the International Trade Law Reflection Group of the German ILA Branch; Member of the "Vereinigung der deutschen Staatsrechtslehrer", the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Völkerrecht", the American Society for International Law, the International Law Association and the "Wissenschaftliche Gesellschaft für Europarecht", Co-Editor "Journal of International Economic Law (JIEL)", "Archiv des Voelkerrechts" (AVR) and "Zeitschrift fuer Europaeische Studien (ZEUS); Studies of Law at the Universities of Mainz (Germany) and Lausanne (Switzerland); Dr. iur. habil.
