Jean-Yves Chérot

Brief Biography

Jean-Yves Cherot is Professor of Law at the Université Paul Cézanne Aix-Marseille, Director of the Laboratory of Theory of Law (Directeur du Laboratoire de théorie du droit, E.A. 892) and Responsable of the Master recherche « Théorie du droit ».

He holds a bachelor degree from the School of Law and Political Science of d'Aix-Marseille and from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques d'Aix-en-Provence (1969). Also, a maîtrise in Law (1973) and was admitted to practice in France (1973). Additionally, he obtained a DES in Public Law (1974) and a Doctorat in Law (1980). In 1973, he obtained a diplôme from the Institut d'Études Politiques d'Aix.

Professor Cherot was lecturer of Law in the Université de La Réunion (1975-1978) and in the Université Aix-Marseille 3 (1978-1987). In this last university he was named Professor of Law in 1987.  Additionally, he was named Professor of Law at the Université de Corse (1984).
