Michael H. Rubin of Baton Rouge has been named the LSU Law Center’s 2007 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year. Chancellor John J. Costonis announced the selection at the last meeting of the Law Center’s Alumni Board of Trustees. This award is given annually to the alumnus who exemplifies the highest quality and ethical standards of the legal profession and whose personal and professional achievements bring distinction to Louisiana and to the Law Center. Rubin will be honored at the Distinguished Alumnus Brunch on Saturday, November 10, at the historic Old State Capitol in downtown Baton Rouge.
Rubin is an attorney and a member of the management committee of McGlinchey Stafford, PLLC in Baton Rouge. • Professor Francisco Reyes, Javeriana University School of Law (Colombia), will teach Comparative Corporate Law. • Professor Stathis Banakas, University of East Anglia (United Kingdom), will teach Comparative Torts Law. • Professor Attila Harmathy, University of Budapest (Hungary), will teach Legal Change in Countries in Transition.
