| CNN Commentator and Author Jeffrey Toobin to Speak at LSU Law Center |

| Jeffrey Toobin, CNN legal analyst and author, will discuss the inner workings of the U.S. Supreme Court and the impact a new presidency will have on its future on Friday, May 2 from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
The event will be held in the Student Lounge and is open to the entire LSU community and the public. The conversation with Toobin will be moderated by Law Chancellor Jack Weiss.
Toobin's latest book, THE NINE - Inside the Secret World of the Supreme Court, will be the focus for the question and answer session. His book offers insights into the most important and secret legal body in our country, the U.S. Supreme Court. Based on exclusive interviews with the justices themselves, The Nine tells the story of the Court through the personalities of the nine justices. His stories reveal the complex dynamic among the justices who decide the law of the land.

| LSU Law Wins National and International Honors at Moot Court and Trial Advocacy Competitions |

| LSU Law students traveled
around the world this Spring semester representing the Law Center at
Moot Court, Trial Advocacy, and Arbitration Competitions in cities
such as New York, Houston, and Vienna, Austria. In all,
students participated in 15 competitions receiving honors and
recognition in virtually all of them.
Most notably,
students won two National Championships in Moot Court Appellate
Competitions.
Students Erin Bray, David Conachen, and Adam Savoie won First
Place at the National Tax Moot Court Competition.

Brief Category at the National Black Law Students' Association

| LSU Law Center Public Forum to Address Pending Supreme Court Case |

| The LSU Law Center's Public Interest Law Society (PILS) and the Jean and George Pugh Institute for Justice will host a public forum on Wednesday, April 2 to discuss Louisiana v Kennedy, a Supreme Court case scheduled for hearing the week of April 14, 2008.
The case relates to whether capital punishment can be imposed for rape of a child.
The forum will be conducted by Jelpi Picou, Director of the Capital Appeals Project, and LSU Law Professor Paul Baier.
The event will be held on Wednesday, April 2 at 12:40 p.m. in Room 108 of the LSU Law Center.
