Group Study Room Monitor![]() This is the monitor located in the Group Study Rooms. The monitor can be connected to a laptop in order to project the image onto the screen for group study sessions. In order to connect a laptop to the monitor you will need one of two cables, a VGA cable or an HDMI cable. Both are available to check out the the Circulation Desk when you reserve a Study Room. ![]() Here is a picture of the VGA cable. Note the smaller 1/8 inch audio cable attached to it. You will need that portion for enabling sound. ![]() Here is a picture of the HDMI cable. To connect a laptop to the monitor, first locate the cable panel on the wall near the monitor. ![]() You will need to connect either the VGA and audio or HDMI cable (NOT BOTH) to the panel. ![]() Here is a picture of the VGA cable connected to the panel. ![]() Here is a picture of the HDMI cable connected to the panel. Once the cable is connected to the panel, connect the other end to your laptop. The VGA or HDMI connectors will vary in position depending on the laptop. The photos below give you approximate positions of where the connectors would be located. ![]() Here is the VGA connector. ![]() Here is the VGA cable connected to the laptop. ![]() Here is the headphone jack. For audio using the VGA cable it is necessary to connect the audio cable to the headphone jack of your laptop. ![]() Here is the audio cable connected to the laptop. Once connected, turn on the monitor using the power button located on the right side of the monitor. ![]() Once the monitor is on, the image from your laptop should be displayed on the screen. ![]() The volume from the monitor can also be controlled via the Volume buttons on the right side of the monitor. ![]() It may be necessary to change the input signal on the monitor to view the image depending on whether or not you're using the VGA or HDMI cable. In order to change inputs to the proper setting, hit the Input button on the side of the monitor. ![]() This list of inputs will appear on the monitor. If you're using the VGA cable you want the input named "RGB (Laptop)". If you're using the HDMI cable, you want the input named "HDMI 1". To navigate up and down the Input List, you can use the Channel buttons located on the right side of the monitor. ![]() When you are on the proper input, press the Input button again. |
