How do I Read A Library Of Congress Call Number?
The LSU Law Library arranges most of its materials by Library of Congress Call Numbers. These are arranged alphabetically and numerically. Read a call number from left to right, top to bottom.
| The first set of letters is alphabetical. |

| The following set of whole numbers is in numerical order. |

| There may be a decimal number added to the whole number. This may appear on the same line as the whole number or on a separate line. |
