Law students may also request Research Appointments to consult with a Reference Librarian for in-depth assistance. Assistance to public patrons is limited. Chat Reference
Our live chat reference service is designed to provide live, brief answers to factual questions and/or suggestions for locations and sources which might help to answer your question.

This service is only available to LSU Law Center students, faculty, and staff. You will be prompted for your LSU Law Center network login ID and password.

Regular hours of operation: Monday-Friday 1 p.m.-8 p.m.
Summer/Intersession hours: Monday-Friday 1 p.m.-5 p.m.

You may call the Law Library Reference Desk for assistance at 225/578-4042 during the regular reference hours listed below.

E-mail Reference
You may e-mail your questions to reference@law.lsu.edu.

You may submit questions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please state your question as clearly as possible to facilitate a prompt response. Replies are normally sent via email within 24 hours, excluding weekends and holidays.

Walk-In Reference
You may ask your questions in person during reference hours:

Monday–Friday		8 a.m.–8 p.m.
Saturday		9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Intersession and summer hours are:
