"I chose LSU Law Center because I was looking for an affordable school with a good academic reputation and an international perspective. I was also surprised to find students from such broad academic backgrounds."

Technology

In 2007, the legal writing department procured the Communicoach program, a tool that advanced the department’s teaching and assessment capabilities. This program enables each student’s oral argument presentation to be recorded and imported into the Communicoach program that allows instant viewing and feedback of the student’s work.

With the Communicoach program, the professor can view the oral argument presentation on any computer and from any location with internet access. Professors can stop the presentation and “drop” comments directly adjacent to a particular segment of the presentation. Students can also access their video, watch it, view the professor’s comments, and write replies to the professor. The entire review and critique process are instantaneous. This innovative technology has brought the communication link between student and professor even closer, timelier, and in a medium friendly to the new generation of students.
