John L. Creed ('49) resides in Houston with his wife Kathryn Jumonville. Creed never practiced law, but has been employed in various aspects of the rice business. In 1973, he formed Creed Rice Co., Inc., an international rice brokerage firm. He also established the Creed Rice Market Report in 1980. He has three sons and one daughter.


William H. Brown ('62) resides in Baton Rouge where he retired as a District Judge. Since retiring, he has practiced law with the firm of Seale, Smith, Zuber & Barnette. He will celebrate 49 years of marriage this August with Mary Ann Adcock Brown. They are the parents of Laurie Brown Besselman, and grandparents of one grandchild, William Brown Besselman, who is six months old.


William H. Reinhardt, Jr. ('70) is of counsel to the law firm of Blue Williams, LLP and practices in the areas of labor/employment law and business transactions.

Robert B. "Skip" Allen ('75) is now General Counsel of Helis Oil & Gas Company, LLC, in New Orleans. He has offices in Houston but spends part of his time in St. Nom La Breteche, France, where his daughter Kathleen attends the American School of Paris. He is married to Shirley Stover Allen.

R. Patrick Vance, 1975

R. Patrick Vance ('75), a partner with Jones Walker, was highlighted by Benchmark Litigation as a "local litigation star" for the second consecutive year.

Oliver Richard, 1977

Oliver "Rick" Richard ('77), owner and president of Empire of the Seed, LLC, will be inducted into the LSU Alumni Association Hall of Distinction as part of the 2009 class. The ceremony will take place April 24.

Donald DeGabrielle, 1978

Donald J. DeGabrielle ('78) is a partner with Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP in Houston.

Joseph Shea, 1978

Joseph L. “Larry” Shea, Jr. (’78) recently became a founding member of the new law firm of Bradley, Murchison, Kelly & Shea LLC, with offices in Shreveport and New Orleans. Mr. Shea was also selected by Best Lawyers in America for 2009 in Commercial Litigation and was named to Louisiana Super Lawyers.

Howard Romaine, 1979

Howard M. Romaine ('79) lives in Nashville, where he does mostly appellate practice and tort law, as well as some criminal law. He has two grandkids, Paul David and Jack Howard Rakestraw.


David Groner, 1980

David Groner ('80) continues to work at his private practice in New Iberia, and serves on the Iberia Medical Center's Board of Trustees, as Chairman of the Atchafalaya Basin Land Commission, and a member of the National Biodiesel Board. He has also been named to Super Lawyers for the last two years and one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Louisiana by Louisiana Life Magazine.

Vance Gibbs, 1982

Vance Gibbs ('82), a partner with Kean Miller in Baton Rouge, has become a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, or ACTL.

Donald Jones, 1988

Donald R. Jones ('88) is with the firm of Wilensky & Jones, LLP in Dallas. He is also a real estate broker in Texas. He is married to Frances Talley ('89), with whom he has three children–Grayson, 10; Thomas, 8; and Mary Frances, 4.


James Moore, 1992

James E. Moore Jr. ('92) is a partner with Carleton, Dunlap, Olinde, Moore & Bonham, LLC in Baton Rouge. He also has a case pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Thomas W. Rigby ('92) is Chief Counsel for the Office of SBIC Liquidation in Washington, D.C.

David Redmann ('94) is a partner with the firm of Bradley, Murchison, Kelly & Shea, LLC, which opened in February 2009. The firm has offices in Shreveport and New Orleans. Of the 17 founding partners, 10 are LSU alumni, and of the 33 total lawyers, 19 are LSU alumni.

Jessie M. LeBlanc ('96) serves as the Hearing Officer and Judicial Administrator for the 23rd Judicial District Court.

Jim Noe ('97) was recently appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Delta Towing, LLC, an inland and offshore tug and support vessel operator. He will continue to serve as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Hercules Offshore, Inc.

J. Michael Monahan, 1998

J. Michael Monahan ('98) has joined the faculty at Chicago-Kent College of Law as an adjunct professor where he is teaching Video Game Law; a seminar course that examines the intellectual property and other legal issues that have spawned the video game space.

Valerie Mayhall, 1999

Valerie Mayhall ('99), is a Senior Environmental Scientist with Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. She was named to the Baton Rouge Business Report's list of "Top Forty Under 40" for 2008.

Melanie Mulcahy ('99) is the incoming president of the LSBA Young Lawyers Section.

Kelly M. Rabalais ('99) is now Executive Counsel for St. Tammany Parish.


Cpt. Dan Stigall ('00), of the U.S. Army Jag Corps., recently completed a book titled Counterterrorism and the Comparative Law of Investigative Detention. it is in the final editing phase and should be out this summer. For more information, click here.

Lee White ('01), with the firm of Jackson Walker's Dallas office, was recently named a "Rising Star" by Texas Monthly magazine.

Shawn Carter, 2003

Shawn Carter ('03) is with the firm of Durio, McGoffin, Stagg & Ackermann in Lafayette.

D. Scott Carmouche, 2004

D. Scott Carmouche ('04) is with Carmouche Land Services, LLC in Baton Rouge. He is also newly married.

Jennifer D. Adams ('05) recently accepted a position with the American Association for Justice in Washington, D.C., as the Legal Content Editor.

Troy P. Majoue ('05) is with the firm of Quilling, Selander, Cummiskey & Lownds, P.C. in Dallas.

Kimberly Wilson Vincent ('06) has opened the Law Office of Kim Wilson Vincent, a general practice law firm, in downtown Austin, Texas.

Garrett Callaway ('07) is serving as a 19th Judicial District Court law clerk to the Hon. R. Michael Caldwell.

Patrick Holly ('08), a 1st Lt. with the U.S. Army, is a student in the 178th Judge Advocate Officer Basic Course.
