William David Kiesel Endowed Scholarship

An endowed scholarship was established in 2007 by a donation from LSU Law graduate William David “Dave” Kiesel, a graduate of the Law Center. Through another generous donation n 2008, Mr. Kiesel doubled the endowment. Mr. Kiesel holds a B.S. in mathematics from LSU (‘66), and earned his M.S. in nuclear engineering in 1970, the same year he earned his J.D. from LSU Law. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Kiesel was an adjunct professor for patent law at Louisiana State University Law School from 1987-1990 and continues to provide guest lectures in various areas of intellectual property. The recipients of this scholarship must be students who have earned an undergraduate degree in the sciences, engineering, or subject matter areas necessary to qualify to take the Patent Bar Exam administered by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
