| ABA National Appellate Advocacy Team Advances to National Championship |

| LSU Law Center’s American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Team competed with extraordinary success February 23 through 25 at the regional rounds of the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. Jennifer O’Connell, Christopher Cummings, Chelsea Gomez, Danielle Prado, Cameron Snowden, and Joshua Wood comprise the team.
The team of Jennifer O’Connell, Danielle Prado, and Christopher Cummings will travel to Chicago in April to compete at the National Championship, a first for the Law Center. O’Connell also took home a Best Oral Advocate award for receiving the fifth-highest individual overall score. Chelsea Gomez, Josh Wood, and Cameron Snowden finished in the top eight at the regional competition.
The ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition is the largest and one of the most competitive appellate advocacy moot court competitions in the country. The team is coached by Professor Kathy Simino. ...

| Law Center Ranked Best School in the Nation for Bar Exam Preparation |

It’s no surprise to generations of LSU Law graduates that the school is # 1 in the state when it comes to preparing students to pass the Louisiana State Bar Examination. But a recent study conducted by The National Jurist magazine identified LSU Law as the # 1 school in the nation in terms of first-time bar passage ratios in a predictive statistical model based on LSAT scores. | LSU Law Celebrates 2012 Family Weekend |

LSU Law Family Weekend was held February 10 and 11, 2012. On Friday, February 10, family and friends of first year law students observed life at the law center by attending class with their first year student. On Saturday, February 11, all members of the Law Center and their families were invited to the LSU Law Family Bar-B-Q hosted by the first year class.
