Professor Andrea Carroll
Law Faculty

"We went through a total renovation, coincidentally, in the three years between the time I graduated and came back as a faculty member. The physical facilities were upgraded 100%, and now there's technology in all the classrooms."

On the front of the law school building, above the frieze, are three sculpted life-sized figures: a lawyer in the center, a soldier representing those who have fought to safeguard rule by law, and a laborer symbolizing the role of the masses in support of the law.

Readmission

Procedure

Applications for readmission should be completed by applicants who have been previously enrolled at the Law Center and received grades. Applicants must complete the following steps:

  1. Submit a complete application with the $50 application fee (nonrefundable). The deadline to apply for readmission in the fall semester is June 15.
  2. A petition for readmission must be submitted along with any additional supporting documents. You may wish to submit a personal résumé in addition to this information.
  3. Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation, but the Law Center will accept up to three. You must submit your letters through the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) of LSAC.  The letters should be from teachers, employers or others who have a personal knowledge of your academic ability and aptitude for the study of law. Strictly personal letters of recommendation do not assist Admissions Committee members in assessing your potential aptitude for the study of law.
  4. Applicants for readmission must request that an official transcript of any work taken since their last enrollment in the Law Center be sent directly through the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) of LSAC.
  5. Applicants must have a current LSAT record. LSAT scores more than five years old will not be considered.

Requirements

An application for readmission should be submitted by applicants who wish to return to the Law Center after enrolling at the LSU Law Center and receiving grades. A completed application should be submitted by June 15 along with the $50 application fee. A petition must be submitted by applicants applying for readmission explaining their requests for readmission. Applicants should also include letters of recommendation and may submit a resumé. Official transcripts of any work attempted after LSU Law Center enrollment are also required. Applicants must also have a current LSAT record (LSAT scores more than five years old will not be considered).
