Transcript Request

Normal Processing time is 1 – 2 business days.  Requests around peak periods such as holidays or the start and end of a semester may take longer to process.

Requesting Transcripts

You may request a copy of your academic record at any time. Your record may be released directly to you or to parties with your appropriate written authorization. 

You may request that your transcript be released to a third party, such as an employer, or to another university. You have two delivery options available. You may: request your transcript to be sent electronically; OR request the transcript to be sealed in a secure envelope, and mailed to the third party. 

How can I request a transcript? You may:

  1. Request a transcript using PAWS.  Only Electronic Transcripts are available via PAWS.
  2. Request a transcript in person. Come directly to the Office of Admissions and Student Records, 202 Law Center, with a valid picture ID, completed form, and $5 check or money order for hard copies.
  3. Request a transcript by mailing or faxing us the information below.


NOTE: Two electronic transcript copies per day are free. All transcripts mailed or picked up in our office are $5 each. Please include a check or money order made to LSU Law Center for the appropriate amount. Credit card payments are not accepted at this time.

To request electronic delivery of a transcript, please submit the following information or complete this form to mail or fax to this office.

  • Name (If applicable, please include the name used while enrolled.)
  • LSU ID/Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Phone number where you can be contacted
  • Name of contact person or College/University
  • E-mail address of the recipient of the transcript
  • Last semester attended
  • Signature - your request must be signed.

NOTE: Please understand that transcripts prior to 1985 cannot be transmitted electronically.

To request a hard-copy transcript, please submit the following information or complete this form to mail or fax to this office. A check or money order of $5 per transcript must be submitted with this request.

  • Name (If applicable, please include the name used while enrolled.)
  • LSU ID/Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • Your current address, phone number and e-mail address/contact information
  • The physical address to which the transcript is to be mailed
  • Last semester attended
  • Number of copies requested
  • Signature - your request must be signed.


NEED YOUR HARD-COPY TRANSCRIPT SENT OVERNIGHT? You may request to have a transcript sent overnight by providing us with a FedEx account number.  You may obtain a FedEx account from  After you have your account number, you may fax your request to 225-578-8647.  On your request, please provide the following information:  name, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, date of graduation or approximate last year of attendance, a PHYSICAL ADDRESS to which transcripts are being sent (FedEx does not deliver to PO Boxes), a CONTACT TELEPHONE NUMBER at the destination, your nine-digit FedEx account number and your signature.

The Office of Bursar Operations places holds on the release of transcripts of students who are in debt to the University. Please be aware that if there is a "Bursar Hold" on your transcript, and you choose to pay what you owe the University via PAWS using a credit card, it may take up to 48 hours to clear your account and to lift the hold.
