International Economic Law in the Midst of Competing Human Rights

On Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 12:40 to 1:40 p.m., Room 106, Visiting Professor Shealdon Leader will discuss on international economic law in the midst of competing human rights.

Dr. Sheldon Leader is a Professor in the School of Law, University of Essex (United Kingdom), and a member of the Essex Centre for Human Rights. He is director of the Essex Business and Human Rights Project. He is presently a Distinguished Global Visitor at the LSU Law Center, teaching International Trade, Investment and Human Rights. His recent publications in this field include ‘Human Rights, Risks, and New Strategies for Global Investment’ 9 Journal of International Economic Law 657-705 (2006) and chapters in Global Project Finance, Human Rights, and Sustainable Development, Sheldon Leader, David Ong (eds.) Cambridge University Press (2010).
