  • Bar Review CoursesMany companies offer live, video-taped, and self-study bar review courses.  The following information will help you decide which bar study program/method will work best for you.
  • Patent BarTo become registered as a patent attorney in the U.S., you must pass the United States Patent & Trademark Office registration exam, commonly referred to as the “patent bar.”  This is a 6-hour, 100-question, multiple-choice exam.  Eligibility to sit for the exam requires a bachelor’s degree in certain recognized technical subject areas.  Review courses in a variety of study formats are offered by several companies including PLI, OmniPrep, PatBar, and Patent Resources Group.

  • Multi-State Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE)

The MPRE is administered three times per year, and is required for admission to the bars of 46 states.  It is a 60-question, multiple-choice exam.  Louisiana requires a minimum score of 80; other states’ MPRE requirements vary.  Please click here for more information about the MPRE and how to register.
