Attention all rising 2L’s and 3L’s: The Law Clinic & Externship program is holding a Town Hall meeting to explain our offerings for Fall 2014 in the LSU Clinical and Externship programs. The online applications are currently live and can by found on the Clinics & Externships homepage on the LSU Law Center website. Professors will be on hand to answer your questions about these exciting opportunities to earn course credit while learning through practice. Students in the Externship program may apply for placements with judges at the state and federal level, governmental agencies and public-interest/non-profit organizations in the Baton Rouge area. The Clinics currently being offered are the Immigration Clinic, Juvenile Defense Clinic, Homeless Advocacy Clinic, Civil Mediation Clinic and the Parole Assistance and Re-entry Clinic. Join the LSU Tax Law Society for Volunteer Income Tax Site training at 6 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to earn extra pro bono hours or gain valuable tax or client experience. The LSU Tax Law Society officers will give a presentation on the VITA training and allow everyone to obtain IRS certification to participate in the VITA site over the next three weeks.
