F. Neelis Roberts Endowed Energy Law Scholarship

This endowed scholarship was established in fall 2010 by the law firm of Slattery, Marino & Roberts in memory of the late F. Neelis Roberts, who passed away in January 2009. Mr. Roberts was a founding partner of the law firm. He was well known in the legal community for his work in the oil and gas industry and mineral law. Mr. Roberts was a lecturer at the Mineral Law Institute in 1989 and 1997. He served as a member of the Advisory Council from 1994 through 1996, and served with distinction from 1996 to 1999 as Chairman of the Louisiana Mineral Law Institute. Mr. Roberts also published numerous speeches and papers on various topics involving energy-related matters.

The scholarship will be awarded to a recipient with a demonstrated interest in mineral and or energy law and must be in the top 15% of the class. It is preferred that the student be a second year law student who has not been awarded another scholarship.

The recipient of this scholarship must be a current of entering full-time student of the Law Center. The recipient must have an interest in mineral or entergy law, as demonstrated by performing well in these classes. The student must be rank in the top 15% of thier class, and may retain this scholarship for additional years if they continue to meet scholarship requirements.
