1940s

John L. Creed, ('49) is the Retired President of Creed Rice Co., Inc. (International Grain Brokers Houston, Texas). Although John never practiced law, he is celebrating his 60th anniversary of law school graduation.

1950s

Arthur R. Carmody, Jr. ('52) has been continually associated with the firm of Wilkinson, Carmody & Gilliam, formerly Wilkinson, Lewis & Wilkinson in the practice of law in Shreveport. He was inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1978; in the Best Lawyers in America for the last ten years; honored in receiving the Alumni Achievement Award of Fordham University in 1995 and as president of the Shreveport Bar Association, the Sons of the American Revolution (Galvez Charter), Red River Public Radio and Loyola College Prep, as well as inducted into the Knights of Malta. For 20 years, Carmody has written a monthly column on legal history for the Shreveport Bar Review. He has eight children and 22 grandchildren and says it is rewarding to now have more time to be involved with them and this interest.

W. Charles Hollier ('56), now retired; formerly senior partner in Hollier, Ringuet, Daniels & Collier, Lafayette; continues to reside in Lafayette.

Charles Henry Ryan ('58), retired from the Boles law firm in Monroe, LA, has been living "happily" in Oaxaca, Mexico since 1998.

1960s

Edward (Ed) B. Cloutman, III, ('69), Law Offices of Ed Cloutman, Dallas, Texas, Board Certified by the State Bar of Texas in the area of Labor and Employment, 1975 to present, was recognized by Super Lawyers magazine and Texas Monthly magazine as a Texas "super lawyer" in the area of Labor and Employment for the years 2003-2009 and by The Best Lawyers in America in the area of Labor and Employment for the same years.

1970s

John T. Nesser III, 1973John T. Nesser III (’73), currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of J. Ray McDermott, S.A. He is responsible for the oversight of all of McDermott’s Offshore Oil & Gas Construction segment’s global operations. Prior to that, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative and Legal Officer for McDermott International, Inc. – the McDermott parent company. He was elected Sr. Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of McDermott International as of January 1, 2000, and elected Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in February, 2001, at which time he assumed responsibility for all risk management and insurance matters for the Company. He joined McDermott in October, 1998, as Associate General Counsel. Prior to joining McDermott, he served as a managing partner of Nesser, King & LeBlanc, a New Orleans law firm, which he co-founded in 1985.  Mr. Nesser also serves on the Board of Directors of Seahawk Drilling, Inc.

John W. deGravelles, 1974John W. deGravelles (‘74) was named a Louisiana Super Lawyer for 2010 in the area of Personal Injury Plaintiff. He was recently named a Fellow in the trial lawyers’ honorary society, Litigation Counsel of America. In addition, deGravelles was invited to lecture at a seminar on The Mediation Process sponsored by the Bar Association of Piraeus and Thessaloniki, Greece. The seminar will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece November 5, 6 and 7, 2009.

R. David Wheat, 1988R.
